With the acceleration of urbanization and the continuous increase in car ownership, the problems of traffic congestion and queuing at toll stations are becoming increasingly severe.
To address these issues, the concept of intelligent transportation has gradually gained importance, and electronic toll collection systems have emerged accordingly. These systems make full use of modern information technology and intelligent devices to achieve automatic vehicle identification and rapid toll payment, which is an important manifestation of the development of intelligent transportation.
To further address the issue of insufficient capacity at existing highway toll stations, as well as the congestion caused by manual toll collection points, the ETC-based MLFF scheme can be adopted to significantly improve traffic efficiency, reduce the pressure on vehicle passage, and achieve non-deceleration and non-stopping toll collection.
